You can also customize your schema definition later if the need arises. A logon dialog box appears.
The "host" is the IP that the user is attaching from, if they are able to attach from any IP, you would use Did you try any of those things? Also, try to just login as the role before adding various privileges.
I changed the password to my user id and created the two new roles with passwords. I changed the methods on the three records to md5 and restarted postgres. When I ran pgAdmin it required me to enter my password. I was able to log in.
The next thing I did was to change the password in the database. I want to use one of the new roles I created to limit update access when it's not needed. Thanks for your help. You can add privileges to each schema, each table, but not rows until v9.
It would make your life easier if you create a role which is the same syntax with no passwordadd priveleges as you need to each row, and have each user inherit from the roles you create.
This will allow you a lot of flexibility later down the road. I meant to say that I was thinking of creating a schema for tables, not rows.
However I got an error when I attempted to access the related sequence id. Do I also have to grant privileges for each column? I could not find examples on how to set this up.
I may write a schema for this just in case I add more update functionality in my applications.Although the query store’s information looks like is part of the databases’s metadata and it’s accessible using DMV’s in the [sys] schema, it behaves as it’s user data, so when the database goes READ_ONLY so does the Query Store.

Thanks so much for this post. Saved me lots of time troubleshooting.
